This Privacy Policy explains how Yugen ("Yugen", "we", "us") processes information when you use the Yugen Chrome extension and related services.
Information We Process
Extension settings and todos
By default, preferences, favorite anime, favorite quotes, theme choices, and todo items are stored locally with the Chrome Storage API. If you create an account, these items are also sent to Yugen's backend so they can be synchronized across your browsers.
Account information
When you create an account, we process your email address and a cryptographic hash of your password. We never store the original password. All current features are free, and Yugen does not process payment information.
Location and weather
If Weather is enabled and you grant Chrome's geolocation permission, the extension obtains latitude and longitude from your browser. The coordinates are sent to Yugen's API proxy, which requests current weather from Open-Meteo and an approximate place name from OpenStreetMap/Nominatim. You may instead choose a country and city manually; that selection and its coordinates are saved with your settings locally and, if cloud sync is enabled, in your cloud snapshot.
Yugen does not create a location history. If permission is unavailable, the extension sends the browser's system timezone and uses its representative city as an approximate location until you choose a location manually.
Product analytics
Yugen records only allowlisted product events such as onboarding completion, settings opened, todo created, and quote favorited. Events are aggregated into daily counters. The event endpoint does not accept a persistent device identifier, advertising identifier, free-form metadata, precise location, todo text, quote text, email address, or browsing history.
Content reports
If you submit a content or rights report, we process your name, email address, the content URL, and your description so that we can investigate and respond.
Third-Party Images and Content
Yugen may obtain and display images through APIs and delivery systems operated by external content services, including Unsplash, as well as from a bundled catalog. Third-party providers and creators control their own content and may change or remove it. Yugen does not claim ownership of third-party images and, to the extent permitted by applicable law, is not responsible for content supplied by third parties.
If you are a copyright or other rights holder and believe that an image displayed through Yugen infringes your rights, contact rights@yugentab.ru. Include your name, contact information, the exact image or content URL, identification of the protected work, the basis of your claim, and a statement that the information supplied is accurate.
Service Providers
- Open-Meteo provides weather data.
- OpenStreetMap/Nominatim provides approximate place names.
- Unsplash may provide external catalog images and attribution information.
- Manami Project supplies the periodically imported anime metadata catalog.
- LibreTranslate and MyMemory may translate a selected quote into Russian when needed.
- Infrastructure providers may process encrypted traffic and operational logs needed to deliver and secure the service.
Their processing is governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
Data Retention
Local extension data remains until you remove it, reset the extension, or uninstall the extension. Cloud snapshots and account records are retained while your account is active. Rights reports are retained for the time needed to investigate the report and maintain an audit trail. Aggregated analytics counters do not identify individual users.
Security
We use transport encryption, password hashing, access controls, rate limits, signed authentication tokens, and restricted server-side secrets. No system can guarantee absolute security.
Your Choices and Rights
You can disable Weather, Quote, Todo, animations, or daily background changes in Settings. You can deny geolocation through Chrome, use the extension without an account, sign out to stop cloud synchronization, and request account deletion or a copy of your cloud data by contacting privacy@yugentab.ru. Depending on your jurisdiction, additional access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or portability rights may apply.
Children
Yugen is not directed to children under 13, or the minimum digital consent age in your jurisdiction. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes
We may update this policy when the product, providers, or legal requirements change. Material changes will be reflected by a new "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, an in-product notice.
